2006 UDFCD’s Annual Seminar
Recent
Developments in Urban Stormwater and Floodplain Management
This one-day seminar will focus on the
recent developments in urban stormwater and floodplain management
technologies and design considerations. Topics presented will include a
brief report on the state of the District; design, community and regulatory
issues surrounding restorative maintenance; discussion on how to integrating
BMPs into the urban landscape, especially in ultra urban settings; what
local governments and consultants need to know about DIFRMs, their
preparation, amendments, and use; public safety issues that every engineer
and government official need to consider when designing detention facilities
and culverts; description of the 2005-06 updates to Volume 3 of the Urban
Storm Drainage Criteria Manual; use of the latest features in the District's
"Detention," "Street Drainage & Inlets," "Open Channel" design and
analysis spreadsheets; update of the maintenance eligibility program and
examples of successful applications of this program; and a chance to openly
discuss any issues in the field that may be on your mind.
